About this policy

This policy explains how Wize Consulting collects, uses, shares and protects personal information through wizeconsulting.ca. Wize Consulting is based in Montreal, Quebec.

We follow Quebec's Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector, as updated by Law 25, and Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).

Person in charge of personal information

Trishane Wijeyawickrema, Founder, is responsible for protecting personal information at Wize Consulting. You can reach him at trishane@wizeconsulting.ca.

What we collect

We only collect what we need to reply to you and to keep the site secure.

  • Through the contact form: your name, work email, company (optional), the service and budget you choose, your message and the language you used.

  • Your consent to this policy, recorded when you submit the form.

  • Technical information needed for security: your IP address and signals from your browser, used to block spam and limit repeated submissions.

  • Anonymous visit statistics, such as page views, collected without cookies and without identifying you.

  • If you book a call, the details you enter in the Calendly booking window.

How we use it

  • To reply to your inquiry and prepare a proposal.

  • To send you a single confirmation email when you contact us.

  • To keep a record of our conversation in our customer relationship management (CRM) system so we can follow up on your request.

  • To protect the site from spam and abuse.

  • To understand, in aggregate, which pages are visited so we can improve the site.

We do not sell your personal information, use it for advertising, or add you to a mailing list. We only send marketing messages if you ask for them.

Your consent

By submitting the contact form, you consent to the uses described in this policy. You can withdraw your consent at any time by emailing us. We will then stop using your information and delete it, unless the law requires us to keep it.

Service providers and where information is stored

We use a small number of providers to run the site. They process personal information only on our behalf, under confidentiality and security obligations.

  • Vercel, for website hosting and anonymous visit statistics.

  • Resend, for sending email.

  • HubSpot, for our customer relationship management.

  • Cloudflare Turnstile, for spam protection on the contact form.

  • Upstash, for limiting repeated form submissions.

  • Calendly, for booking calls. When you use it, Calendly's own privacy policy also applies.

Some of these providers store information outside Quebec, including in the United States. Before communicating personal information outside Quebec, we assess whether it will be adequately protected, as Quebec law requires. Information held outside Canada may be accessible to authorities in that country under its laws.

Cookies

This site does not use advertising or tracking cookies, and our visit statistics do not use cookies. If you open the Calendly booking window, Calendly may set its own cookies, which are governed by its policy.

How long we keep it

  • Inquiries and related emails: up to 24 months after our last exchange. If you become a client, contract and accounting records are kept for as long as the law requires.

  • IP addresses used to limit repeated submissions: deleted automatically within minutes.

  • Server logs: kept by our hosting provider for a short period for security and troubleshooting.

When information is no longer needed, we delete it or make it anonymous.

How we protect it

Access to personal information is limited to the people who need it. Our providers encrypt information in transit, and our accounts are protected with strong authentication.

If a confidentiality incident presents a risk of serious injury, we will notify you and Quebec's Commission d'accès à l'information, and we keep a register of incidents as the law requires.

Your rights

You can ask us to:

  • Confirm whether we hold personal information about you and give you a copy.

  • Correct information that is inaccurate, incomplete or out of date.

  • Stop using your information and delete it, by withdrawing your consent.

  • Provide information you gave us in a structured, commonly used technological format.

To make a request, email trishane@wizeconsulting.ca. We reply within 30 days, free of charge. We do not make decisions about you based only on automated processing.

If you are not satisfied with our response, you can file a complaint with the Commission d'accès à l'information du Québec (cai.gouv.qc.ca) or, outside Quebec, with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada (priv.gc.ca).
